Proper handling and storage will help preserve the shine, colour, and durability of your pieces, so if you want to keep your Arran Bay jewellery looking great for years to come then here are a few tips to preserve the beauty & colour of the stones along with the quality of the metal.  

Sunlight — We’re not saying don’t wear your jewellery in the sun… after all our collections are made for summer styling… but please don’t let your jewellery lie on window ledges in direct sunlight, this can diminish and fade the vibrant colours of the stones. Some stones (e.g., amethyst, rose quartz) fade in direct sunlight—store in a cool, shaded place, Porous stones (e.g., turquoise, lapis lazuli) absorb oils and liquids—handle with clean hands.

Water — When you are swimming in the sea or chlorinated pools, showering or even doing the washing up… Please take your jewellery off. It will probably be fine but it might not last as many years as it would if you didn’t do these activities whilst wearing it.

Perfumes and chemicals —  It would be best to put your jewellery on after spraying your perfume. Repeated sprays with liquid can fade your gold plate or tarnish your steel clasps. Also chemicals are not your friend as they can dull and weaken the plating.

Magnetic clasps — Caution: Please be aware that magnetic fields can affect pacemakers and electronic medical devices, so we do not advise you purchase our magnetic clasps if you have one of these. Please contact us and we can change the clasp to a non magnetic one for you. 

Store properly —  Keep in a soft pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratches and tangling.

✨ Cleaning:

• Use a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints and dust.
• Very occasionally, wipe with a cloth, do not rub the plating hard as this will wear it off eventually.

🚫 Avoid:

Prolonged exposure to sweat—remove before workouts or swimming.
