About
Handmade in Scotland using a mixture of semi precious stones and glass, Arran Bay jewellery draws from the stunning scenery surrounding the West coast of Scotland, with colours reminiscent of blue skies; rugged landscapes and breath-taking sunsets over the island of Arran. Every piece is carefully hand made in the studio by a small group of skilled makers.
Background of Arran Bay jewellery.
Arran Bay Jewellery was founded by Lisa over 10 years ago, drawing on her extensive background in design. Before creating the jewellery brand, Lisa worked as a knitwear designer for Scottish cashmere companies creating designs for high-end fashion houses like Donna Karan & Missoni. She studied textile design at Galashiels Herriot Watt University and later a Masters in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design in London.
It was during her time as a designer that Lisa noticed a gap in the market for stylish, designer-quality jewellery aimed at a quality conscious consumer, but at accessible, high street prices. This insight led her to establish Arran Bay from her attic, with the aim of creating beautiful, hand-crafted jewellery that reflected the same quality and craftsmanship as luxury designs but without the hefty price tag.
Over the years, the brand has grown significantly, with its handmade pieces now stocked in numerous gift shops and jewellers across the country. Lisa now works with a small group of makers from a contemporary studio minutes from the sea on the west coast of Scotland. The beach offers a breath-taking view of the bay, with the Isle of Arran visible in the distance—an inspiring sight that directly influenced the name Arran Bay for the brand. The stunning landscape around her, with its ever-changing colours and textures, continues to provide endless inspiration for Lisa's designs.
Forever passionate about textiles, Lisa has seamlessly transferred her creativity from fabric to jewellery, enjoying the process of working with the different textures and hues of beads and semi-precious stones. She loves mixing them together in unusual and unexpected ways, resulting in unique, handcrafted pieces that reflect her background as a textile designer.
